Speaker Bio

Shawndel N. Fraser is an environmental psychologist and interdisciplinary artist whose work examines masculine devotion, skilled labor, and moral responsibility in everyday life. Through her long-term project Hands That Nurture: Perceptions of Masculine Devotion, she documents working men in rural communities and explores how care, courage, and responsibility are expressed through craft, labor, and relationships.

Her talks bring together field observation, cultural analysis, and storytelling to help audiences better understand the social pressures facing men today and the deeper human capacities that often go unseen.

Her talks have engaged audiences at universities, cultural institutions, community organizations, and interdisciplinary conferences.

Adirondack Almanack / Adirondack Explorer, February 2026

by Shawndel N. Fraser
